Who we are

Firstline operates this website and builds the product described on it. We are the controller for the data below, and for anything on this page you can reach us at noah@firstline.so.

What this website collects

Firstline.so has no analytics, no advertising or social pixels, and no cookies of our own. Our fonts are served from our own domain, so no font network sees you. Three things do involve data:

• Server logs. Our hosting provider records the usual request data, such as your IP address, browser user agent and the page you asked for. It is used to serve the site and diagnose faults, and it is deleted on a short rolling schedule.
• Booking a demo. The scheduler on /book is provided by Cal.com. When you book, you give it your name, email address and time zone, plus anything you type into the form. We receive that booking and use it to hold the meeting.
• The demo video. The player on /demo is hosted by Vimeo. Nothing loads from Vimeo until you press play, and when it does we ask for their Do Not Track mode, which stops the session being used for tracking or profiling.

If you contact us or book a demo

We use what you send to reply, hold the meeting and keep track of the conversation. We do not sell it, share it for advertising, or add you to a marketing list you did not ask for. If a conversation does not go anywhere, we delete the contact details within two years, and sooner if you ask.

Grounds for using your data

• Legitimate interest for serving the website securely and replying to people who get in touch.
• Steps toward a contract for arranging and holding a demo you requested.
• Your consent for the video player, which is why it only loads when you press play.

Who else can see it

Only the providers we need to run the site. Each one is bound by a data processing agreement and may only use the data to deliver its service to us.

Some of these providers process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, transfers are covered by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

When the Firstline product is used on your computer

The product is a different matter from this website. Firstline is run by managed service providers on behalf of the companies they support. The company being supported decides what Firstline may do and what it may see, its provider sets the rules per client, and we act as a subprocessor on their instructions under a data processing agreement. Data handling, retention, the audit trail and the boundaries the agent works within are described on our security page. If you are an employee whose IT support uses Firstline, your own IT team is the right place to start with questions about your data.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or ask for it in a portable form. Write to noah@firstline.so and we will answer within a month. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to your national data protection authority; in the Netherlands that is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Changes

If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and move the date at the top. We will not quietly add tracking to the site; if that ever changes, we will ask first.
